A new Italian restaurant is opening at a prime address in downtown Fort Worth: Called Buonissimo, it will open at 150 Throckmorton St. #140, in the City Place Center development, in the former Avanti Restaurant space, where it's set to open in late July.
Buonissimo is from Ervin Cibaku, opening his first restaurant, partnered with chef Ferdinand Plaku, who is co-owner at Acquario, the Italian seafood restaurant in Keller. Plaku has roots in Italy, where he owned two restaurants, including Aquarium in Venice.
The duo felt that downtown Fort Worth could more authentic Italian options, and were thrilled to open in such a prime area.
Buonissimo will feature authentic Italian food, including pasta made in-house, plus pizza and steaks, but with a special focus on a popular region of Italy: Venice.
"We're definitely doing something different," Cibku says. “We're seeking inspiration by the north of Italy, not the south side — from the Venice area, that’s where the chef is from."
Venice cuisine is known for pasta and seafood, with items such as sardines and shrimp, as well as polenta and rice. It's also the birthplace of many popular Italian staples such as tiramisu.
Cibaku and Plaku are still tidying up details on the menu, but Cibaku promises it will be reasonably priced.
“It’ll be upscale, not casual, but the prices won’t be high scale,” he says. “It’ll be somewhere where people can afford to come in and enjoy their time here."
